Almost 2 Years

Time passed so fast. In just a blink of the eyes, I have been blogging for almost 2 years already. If you notice, I rarely update my blog, nowadays. Only once in a while and not as often as last time. The reason is because since the economic slow down, not much opportunity to do product review anymore. I tried to submit my blog to other company, but since my blog have big fat zero rank, they rejected my blog. Some of you probably said that the reason I have zero page rank is because I do paid review. It’s not a secret that google doesn’t like blog with that kind of posts.

I hear that if you have your own domain, you can boost up your rank. I am thinking of buying my own domain if that is true, so I can get more opportunities to earn more money. Many hosting providers claim to be the best in one way or another, but not all hosts can be the best! What is your reason blogging?

Actually my original reason blogging was because I want to update my parents about my children’s developments and also because I got the thrill to see my own writing was published for the whole world to see. Originally I didn’t expect anybody else beside my parents and family to find my blog, so imagine my excitement when I saw totally stranger leaves comment on my blog.

Along the way, I found new friends and one of them even become one of my best friends even I have never met her in person. Later on I found that I can make money by blogging. The money is not much, but it really helps me to pay the bills. Besides, I learn so many things from all the various topics that I have to write. Plus, because one of the rule is for you to post your own post in between paid posts, I have the motivation to keep updating this blog.

Happy 1-Year Blogiversary

Today is my 1-Year Blogiversary! I started this blog a year ago. At that time I was not aware that I was pregnant with my second daughter. Since then I have had almost 9,000 visitors and more than 300 posts. So it’s almost about 1 post per day.

I created this blog after looking at the numerous nice blogs out there. Although English is not my primary language, I always try my best to express my thoughts and opinions in English. This blog is definitely not the best blog around, but I really take pride in it and I think that what I have accomplished so far really exceeded my initial expectation.

Anybody Know How to Back Up?

I am wondering if there is an easy method to back up all of my posts in this blog. I am just afraid that if somehow the blog site has a glitch then all of my posts will be lost.

I know that probably my posts here are worthless for anybody else, but for me they are precious, especially the ones about my children.

I tried to look up the internet on how to back up my posts, but I could not find any easy methods to do it. In the end, I just copied and pasted all of my posts in MS Word.

New Face

I decided to facelift this blog to celebrate its first birthday on 18 September. I know that there are lots of free templates out there, but I want to have exclusive template on my own. Furthermore, if I use free template I have to install everything by myself. I don’t know about you, but I still cannot figure it out how to changing the template without loosing all the widget that I have installed

So, when I saw this template on Chick and Sassy Design, I decided to buy it. The price is quite expensive for me, but she also installed everything for me. I just give my username and password to her and within less than 2 hours after payment my blog have a new face and all my widget still intact.

What to Blog About

I am thinking to make my blog more organized. Rather than blog about something randomly, I am thinking to blog a certain topic at a certain day.
