Products for Pregnant Woman

Right after giving birth to my first child, my stretch mark was so bad that even I did not dare to look at them. I only started to get the stretchmarks the last two months of my pregnancy. I didn’t even realize that it’s there because the stretchmarks were located below the tummy, thus I could not see them directly. Only after about 1 year after delivery, my stretchmarks were fading, but it’s still there.

When I was pregnant with my second child, I applied cocoa cream everyday. The result, I still have stretchmarks since I got them in the first place, but it’s not that bad as the first time.

Talking about stretchmarks, I just found out about Beaute de Maman line. These products are for women who are pregnant. Beaute de Maman is a unique line of health and beauty products developed by a board-certified obstetrician to treat problems specifically related to the physiological and hormonal changes experienced by women during pregnancy. Infact, Beaute de Maman products have made it into the hands of such Hollywood celebrity moms-to-be including actresses Penelope Ann Miller, Salli Richardson-Whitfield (“Eureka”), Chyler Leigh (“Grey’s Anatomy”) and Jennifer Blanc. Brooke Mueller Sheen, wife of actor Charlie Sheen, as well as Jane Hajduk, who is married to actor Tim Allen, and The Insider’s celebrity correspondent Victoria Recano, can also be counted among expectant Hollywood moms who have been seen and heard referencing various products in the Beauté de Maman line.

Remember my SIL that have oligohydramnios complication with her pregnancy? In the end the water getting less and less until it is less than 1 cm. The doctor did another 4D ultra sound and found out that the baby kindney was not functioning. I think this was the reason why there was no water, because the baby was not urinated.

Anyway, since it was dangerous for the mother to have less than 1 cm water, the doctor decided to induce he to labor. Her pregnancy was 25 weeks at that time. After more than 25 hours in labor, the baby was born. It was a baby boy! His length was 11 inch and weight about 900 grams. However due to the condition of his lungs and kidneys, he only lived for 20 minutes. However, the mother is doing fine. I think that is the most important thing. Hopefully, they can get over their grief fast and trying to get pregnant again soon.

Injection of Fluid

I wrote in my previous post that my SIL diagnosed with oligohydramnios. Oligohydramnios is a condition in pregnancy characterised by a deficiency of amniotic fluid.

She went to see 3 doctors and all of them have same diagnosis. All of them said that there is nothing they can do about it. However yesterday she went to see different gynea, and today My mom just called me and said that this gynea aked my SIL to immediately admit to the hospital so he can monitor her pregnancy. Her amniotic water inside her worm is getting less, so he will try to inject her additional water. I don’t know whether this process is dangerous or not. I tried to search for it in the internet, but so far I could not find any information about it.

I only found out that some have advocated the injection of fluid before delivery via amniocentesis to improve the intrauterine environment for the fetus prior to labor. The duration of the effect is unknown. Oligohydramnios is usually observed to return within 1 week. Amnioinfusion via amniocentesis has been used in the second trimester to better visualize the fetal anatomy and confirm diagnosis

Today my brother sms me and ask me what is the medical term for the water surrounding the baby in the womb since he wanted to look up in the internet. I sms him back and told him that the medical term is called amniotic fluid. After that I called him to ask the current news. He told me that he just came back from the gynea and it seemed the water is even lesser than last week. It seemed that the baby doesn’t pee at all. I felt bad for him to hear this news. I could tell that he was very upset and the doctor also could not do anything about it, he said that to inject additional amniotic fluid is very risky both for the mother and the baby. He just suggested his wife to take a total rest.
